On behalf of International Forum of Solidarity – EMMAUS (IFS-EMMAUS), we are pleased to inform You about the public promotion and presentation of the publications of the project „Development of Guidelines for the Prevention of Violence against Children in Bosnia and Herzegovina adapted to Children”, supported by UNICEF and the Delegation of the European Union in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
With the aim of strengthening the activities of preventing violence against children and encouraging children and their families to contribute to the identification and reporting of cases of violence against children, IFS-EMMAUS, in cooperation with recognized experts in the area of prevention of violence against children and protection of children, prepared :
- “Guidelines for dealing with violence against children in the digital environment in Bosnia and Herzegovina” intended for professionals working in this field;
- Cartoon/story book “All you need to know about violence!” intended for children aged 6-11 years;
- Online application “Be the Cyber Detective!” for use on social networks for children aged 12+.
Cartoon/story book and online applications are especially tailored to the needs of children of the above mentioned ages, and handle various forms of violence: neglect of the child, physical, emotional, sexual and peer violence, and online violence or violence in a digital environment. By developing this specific form of violence within the Guidelines and developing specialized content for children, as well as by promoting the implementation of Guidelines in practice, the project contributes to strengthening the existing child protection system in BiH in order to adequately respond to all known forms of violence, exploitation and neglect of children.
Public promotion of publications and press conferences will take place on November 14, 2017, from 13:00 to 14:00h in the premises of the Networks Center (address: Skenderpašina 1, Sarajevo). Representatives of relevant institutions, international organizations and civil society organizations from Bosnia and Herzegovina, experts in the mentioned area, children and youth, as well as representatives of the media were invited to participate in the event. The guests will be addressed by the representatives of the Ministry of Security of Bosnia and Herzegovina, UNICEF, IFS-EMMAUS, as well as the experts who participated in the preparation of publications.
